Custom Die-Cast Wire Rope & Cable Fittings
Lexco Cable manufactures custom die-cast wire rope and cable end fittings by injecting molten zinc onto a cable end inside a die built to the required shape. This process produces eyelets, ball ends, barrels, bullets, and Z- and L-shaped fittings, including designs that would be difficult to produce with conventional swaging or machining.
Most die-cast fittings are made to order and carry a tooling fee, so they typically make the most sense for higher-volume production where that cost can be spread across a larger order. For OEMs and industrial cable manufacturers, die-cast fittings offer a repeatable, cost-effective option for specialized cable end shapes.
Choosing a Die-Cast Fitting for Your Cable Assembly
Die-cast fittings are best suited to applications that need a custom shape, such as a barrel, bullet, ball end, or Z- or L-shaped fitting, or that require the same fitting repeated across a high-volume production run. Because each design requires its own die and tooling fee, die casting is generally more cost-effective at volume than for a single custom assembly.
