We provide comprehensive cutting and re-reeling services on all our wire rope, strand, and cable. Depending on your requirements, we can re-reel wire rope into coils as well as on to numerous types of reel materials including, plastic reels, metal reels, fiberboard reels, and wood reels. We can reel both typical lengths such as 100ft, 250ft, and 500ft, as well as non-standard lengths. We are also happy to work with you to accommodate your reel specifications should you require custom parameters or reel dimensions.
Proper handling of the wire rope from one reel to another helps avoid situations where the wire rope may become twisted or kinked. A kink in your wire rope from improper re-reeling will cause permanent damage resulting in the wire rope not giving normal service, even after apparent “re-straightening.” By applying appropriate tension and re-reeling from the top of one reel onto the top of the other, our equipment and expertise ensure proper wire rope re-reeling. During re-reeling, our cable experts ensure that the wire rope bends in the way it was originally winded to avoid causing a reverse bend or kink in your wire rope.
Lexco® is also capable of private labeling reels. If desired, you can provide our team with branded labels that can be applied to each reel. During re-reeling, we record the lot number of the new reel as inherited by the master reel. Brand labeled reels can also be individually boxed with an additional brand label applied to each box. Additionally, we can use generic reels and labels when blind drop shipping is requested.
With our re-reeling services, you can extend the service life of your wire rope. Our re-reeling delivers wraps that are tight and close together on the new reel’s first layer of wire rope, forming the foundation for succeeding layers. The remaining rope on the reel is then spooled with tension to avoid any accumulation of slack and ensure the rope is always taut.
