Lexco® has a long history of meeting our customers' aesthetic, durability, and safety requirements when it comes to extrusions with our polyvinyl chloride (PVC), nylon, and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) coatings. Our most commonly requested coating is PVC, which is ideal for its aesthetics, ergonomics, protection, and visibility. We can provide PVC coatings in over a dozen different standard colors, including translucent, solid, and high-visibility variations, and are happy to quote you a custom color to meet the needs of your company, brand, or application. Our in-house extrusion department can provide outside diameter (OD) coating up to 5/8".
We also offer two types of nylon coatings, Nylon-6 and Nylon-11, which deliver improved endurance for applications involving high levels of friction or abrasion. Nylon-6 coatings are a cost-effective choice for use with pulleys and sheaves. Nylon-11 can additionally be used with pulleys and sheaves and provides a greater lifespan in high cycling applications, for example, MIL-DTL-83420 Type II is Nylon-11 coated. Nylon also offers higher temperature ratings than our HDPE and PVC coatings. Our in-house team can produce up to 1/2" OD coatings in numerous solid and translucent colors, with custom color options available upon request.
High-density polyethylene (HDPE) coatings are also available to meet the specific requirements of your application and can be done in-house with up to 1/2" OD coatings. Typical HDPE coating applications include instances where the cable is required to be buried underground.
All Lexco® coatings are inspected using laser micrometers for OD measurement to ensure you always receive a top-quality final product. Extruded cable is available by the foot, reel, pre-cut, or included directly as part of your wire rope assembly.
